74:100 The Ambitious Ocean by Seanan McGuire

Patrick is upset that Countess Winterrose would interfere and lie to him about Dianda so he goes to confront her on it but the Patrick that comes out after that meeting is not the same one that went in.  He is now cold and callous to those he once treated as friends, the pixies are shooed away and Daffodil actually struck, is dismissive of Carmichael, and now plans to kill Dianda for daring to try and ensnare him.

And then Dianda and Sylvester figure out that something is very wrong and wrestle him into the sea where the ocean dissolves the spell that the Countess placed on him to make him into her idea of what a Doane Sidhe should behave like.  Thank goodness for that.  Now if he can just keep Dianda from going after the Countess herself...

Love reading about Patrick and Dianda and so glad I know how it will end up before getting stories like these.  LOL

10:100 Live in Brass by Seanan McGuire

Dianda is both furious and frustrated. She knew that her feelings for Patrick were not likely to reach fruition but she thought they at least had something worth exploring and that he felt the same about her so when she received a missive from another women telling her that Patrick simply couldn't be interested in a "beast" like her, she reacted by accepting the hand of the merrow from across the world who came to broker an alliance between their tribes. Now she is at her engagement party at King Gilad's house and hearing all kinds of things that started making her wonder just what is going on landside.

The story of what happened at Dianda's engagement party told from Dianda's point of view.  I have really enjoyed the Dianda/Patrick stories and this was wonderful hearing more about the undersea kingdom and races and listening to Dianda's constantly having to remind herself that she's not allowed to punch people in the face is pretty funny.  I wish more people on the land had her self-control.

3:100 Write in Water by Seanan McGuire

Patrick just wants to be left alone to tinker and dream of Dianda and what can never be when Sylvester shows up to drag him to Court for a party. Unfortunately, it's not just any party but the party celebrating Dianda's engagement.  Patrick is broken and disappears into the kitchens as quickly as he can to find some peace. Dianda, remembering his custom ends up there as well and boy is she pissed.

I'm really loving the Patrick and Dianda stories and seeing how they finally get together was just perfect.  I hope even though they are now together, we continue to get occasional stories about them as they are one of the more fascinating couples.  Unfortunately, their stories always come with a side of Simon and that is just sad seeing how he was and what could have been had he chosen other paths.
